Zur FAU-Botschafterin hat die FAU in diesem Jahr Prof. Dr. Anuscheh Farahat, LL.M. ernannt, in Würdigung ihres besonderen Verdienstes um den Ausbau der internationalen Reputation und Sichtbarkeit der FAU in Forschung und Lehre.
Ambassadors are the highest-level diplomats, representing their countries in foreign lands. Similarly, FAU Ambassadors represent our university at institutions around the world, sharing their experiences and insights with the global academic community. They are, in essence, the face of FAU abroad.
Prof. Dr. Anuscheh Farahat is a Professor of Public Law in its European Context at the University of Vienna. She completed her legal studies in Frankfurt, Paris, and Berkeley, passed the Staatsexamen in Hesse, and earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree. She was then promoted and habilitated in Frankfurt/Main. Dr. Farahat has held positions as a Research Assistant and PostDoc at both Frankfurt and Heidelberg, including at the prestigious Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. Her research focuses on national, European, and international migration law, particularly participation rights, labor migration, and citizenship in a transnational context. Her emphasis on international human rights protection, including social rights and addressing inequalities, aligns seamlessly with our human rights hub at FAU.
This alignment was one of the reasons we invited Dr. Farahat to join us at FAU in 2018. As a University Professor of Public Law, Migration Law, and Human Rights, she has become a Key Principal Investigator (KPI) at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Dr. Farahat has played an extraordinary role in shaping and leading our successful application for an Excellence Cluster. Her experience with us and her expertise make Dr. Farahat an ideal ambassador for FAU as she is now University Professor of Public Law in its European Context at the University of Vienna.
