The Schüssler Prize has been awarded to Aisha Munir, whose journey of intellectual curiosity and intercultural competence is truly inspiring. Hailing from Lahore, Pakistan, Aisha’s academic career began with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Art and Design from the prestigious Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts. Surrounded by students from diverse backgrounds, Aisha not only excelled in her studies, graduating magna cum laude, but she also embraced the vibrant intercultural environment, participating in clubs and events that shaped her global perspective. Her international experiences didn’t stop there. After returning to Pakistan to build a successful advertising career, Aisha realized that her passion lay in bridging cultural divides. In 2021, she embarked on a new chapter by joining the Master’s program in International Business Studies at FAU, where she has flourished. Aishas leadership in intercultural teams, alongside her fluency in multiple languages – English, Urdu, and now in process of learning German – has set her apart as someone deeply committed to fostering cross-cultural understanding.
What truly distinguishes Aisha, however, is her dedication to making a meaningful impact. Her coursework in sustainable development and corporate ethics revealed her intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving skills. Despite being relatively new to these subjects, Aisha embraced the challenge with remarkable insight, always adapting her thinking to diverse cultural contexts.
Beyond her academic accomplishments, Aisha has made a significant mark on the FAU community. Working with the Chair for International Management and the Dean of International Affairs, she has promoted cultural diversity and attracted international students to the School of Business. And her upcoming role as Coordinator for the M.Sc. Program in International Business Studies, combined with her research on intercultural management, showcases her leadership and vision for the future.
